best way to keep roses?
July 7th, 2010 | by admin |I just got some roses tonight but i’m leaving on a vacation tomorrow. I’ll be gone for 18 days so what is the best thing to do?
Roses won’t last that long in a vase, should i dry them? or put them in the fridge? freezer?
I just wrapped them loosely like you do any other vegetable and they survived. Mind you though the fridge wasn’t opened whilst we were away.
have a go……

No, they definitely won’t last that long! Best not to put them in the fridge as general household fridges are set at too low a temperature for flowers, they end up getting "frozen" and damaged due to the coldness. (Flowers, except tropical varieties, are best kept in a fridge set at between 4-6degrees celcius) The best way to preserve them is to hang them upside down in a dark dry place. Note that they will not keep their colour and will turn a brown colour.

Take ‘em with you , dry them, or give them to somebody else .18 days is not gonna’ happen, no matter what you do . In fridge , lack of light would ruin them, even if they somehow lasted. Definitely NOT freezer . Have seen it done, before a big event, by someone who didn’t know( the store manager;D). Couldn’t understand why she couldn’t get a refund .;D

I once put my wedding bouquet roses in the fridge and they survived the honeymoon and now I still have them (I dried them afterwards)
