Looking for a cheap guitar for classic rock and metal?
September 1st, 2010 | by admin |Im looking for a cheap guitar good with metal (some shredding) and classic rock (kiss, acdc, guns n Roses led zeppelin)
I really want a epiphone or gibson les paul but cant afford one.
I was thinking of getting a epiphone les paul special but they dont look good to me.
Any suggestions?
if you want a cheap one dont be looking at gibson cause you wont find a cheap one
and as far as the les paul goes, if you dont like the shape of that one look at the SG, same guitar but with a different shape
i would also recommend checking out ESP LTD guitars cause they are excellent for metal and classic rock
but the ESP models are the more expensive ones. look at the LTD models cause again, more affordable
or check out ibanez guitars
cant say much about them cause i dont own one but from my experience with them they are just fine guitars for about any style of playing

you can always look at pawn shops for a gibson, that’s where i found mine, it was in great condition, and only about $150.

I love the RGA, but all of their models are great.
*This one looks a bit like a Les Paul

Hello there,
I am not sure there is a good cheap guitar. Good guitars seem to be pricey these days. Cheap guitars seem to be trash. Not a lot in the middle.
I can understand your desire for a Les Paul. It and the Strat are the two work horses of rock and have been for decades. Each looks different and each sounds different. Both are good but different. Okay you want a Les Paul and the price is out of your budget. Have you considered buying a used Les Paul. You can lower the price without sacrificing quality that way. Check your local want ads, Craigslist and even eBay for the best deal you can find on a used Les Paul. You may be pleasantly surprised at what your money will buy.
As for the Les Paul Special, you may think it does not look good, I don’t think it sounds good. I don’t think that guitar deserves the Les Paul name.
Go on eBay and just look around.. There are some guitars that have been damaged, but unless you are capable of doing the repairs, pass on those no matter the price. There are plenty of used Les Pauls there that are in good shape. That will give you an idea of what you could get with the amount of money you have to spend.
Later,

I own 3 epiphones. Great guitars and great quality. But an Ibanez would fit best. They are cheep and great looking. But a Jackson Dinky is good too

Hey Girl, you should buy a Epiphone, it’s a very good guitar, nice sound clean e with distortion, if you play Rock-Hard Rock it’s perfect, and for metal too.. My soloist guitarrist have an Epiphone Les Paul (125 euro, i’m Italian, 125 $) and we play Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth.. Bye byee
