The bloom, those fade, thy grow new ones, those bloom, etc. What you can do to help speed up the process is cut off the spent blooms so that the plant does not spend energy making rosehips - the swollen pod that form after the rose fade, which is where the seeds are. It will then but it's energy back into making more flowers. And although you see roses elsewhere flowering "all summer long", it a rare shrub that does so continuously.
