When do the roses start to bloom?

February 1st, 2010 | by admin |

ie what month, i know it depends on what type of rose, but just in general, say you had a garden full of Roses when would they typically start to bloom?

in uk (sorry!) southern-ish uk

I would say late may, beginning of June, depending on the weather. It’s been a bit crazy lately.

I have 75 rose bushes then are now starting to bud out. I should start to see blooms in mid-late April if the freeze don’t get them.

ours are in bud now and we hope to see flowers before the end of April and they will go on until the frost gets them, we have a shrub rose( called Fiona) and it gives a magnificent show every year, when pruned back a bit at the end of the summer we have some flowers at Xmas, we are in south England
