valentines gifts for boyfriend living far away?
June 27th, 2010 | by admin |my boyfriend is in the marine corps and is stationed in hawaii, while i live in north carolina. we dated for almost 2 years (met in highschool) and then he enlisted. so i cant take him to dinner or anything and i cant get him anything huge. i already talk to him on the phone everyday and also through the computer and letters. What is something material wise that I could get him for Valentines Day?
By the way — THANKS for thinking of the Servicemember .. because when we serve .. it does help to know that those back home think of us positively (I’m an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree, and FEMALE Military Retiree). Believe me, he appreciates the contact — the e-mails, the letters, the phone calls … and your warm thoughts.

that has to be hard…. um.. you could possibly find a really good pic of you and him and go to some type of photo shop and get a really good background.. crop it and all that.. that would probly be more meaningful to him.. a piece of home..you can maybe even do a few pictures for him.. send him letters and state for him to read on a different day .. something else he could look forward to…… whatever you do I bet it is going to be nice.. good luck..

How about a Digital Photo Frame — take some digital photos of the places and events that you both went to … (including nice photos of yourself — nothing too risque) .. and send that to him! He can put it in his dorm/locker, take it to his office (if he has an office) .. and he can flip through the photos in slideshow mode when he can’t be with you or can’t get to a phone/computer!

Nothing does more wonders to a guy so far away most of the time than a handmade portrait or painting of yourself – in your most glamorous moods and attire. You can send such a photo to http://www.paintyourlife.com and they will create a wonderful portrait out of it. Try it out and you will tell me the wonders it does to your boyfriend.
The same company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. If you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their ‘stock on sale’. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.com

My husband is a Marine and we have spent a few Valentine’s Days apart over the years. You can buy some of the personlized M&M’s, you could do a scrapbook of either his time in the Corps or your time together, you could make him an entire Valentines Day themed care package (like a picnic for one or something), the digital photo frame is a great idea, contruction paper hearts cut out with reasons why you love him on them (make a number of hearts with a significance i.e. one heart for every month you have been together or one heart for every month you have been apart), the possibilities are endless girl! Just sit down, take some time and think of what would mean the most to him!

You could check out the website – http://www.ExpressionPrints.com – it allows you to upload a photo of your own or use one from their gallery. Then you can add text such as a personal message or love poem on top of the image and it even allows you to apply effects to the photo. Nice site to create a really personalized photo gift for someone special in your life.
